This is just....no. They're trying to copy the Rachelle hair, which makes sense from a continuity standpoint, but it's just not working. No one can pull off Victoria's gorgeous red curls like Rachelle!!!
I'm sorry, but Bryce, you're gonna have to work a lot harder to impress me! This is not reading as bad@ss, or scary, or any of the other things that Victoria is supposed to be and Rachelle was in the role.
And shouldn't Victoria be dominating the kiss? She's supposed to be the one in control of Riley, she should be the aggressor, not standing on her tippy-toes and letting him lead like a weak little girl!
The hair..the outfit.. everything look so wrong....
I gonna have to try harder getting used to her as Victoria.

this just isn't working for me. rachel was the ONLY victoria. i'm sorry but she's doing it all wrong. like JIMH said, she should be DOMINATING that kiss.
Summit just wanted to get Rachelle out and they were waiting for their chance, and the found it in a 10 day overlap. Summit almost did the same thing to Cam Giagandet, because he was gunna miss OVER a 2week overlap and they did everything they could to keep him in this movie: including miving all his scenes to film at the begining/quickly so that he could go shoot his other movie.
It is not that summit could not have done this, what they did for Cam, they just chose not to, which in their part is prob the STUPIDEST thing they could have possibly done.
AGAIN, I WILL BE OVERJOYED WHEN BDH DIES IN THIS MOVIE SO THAT I NEVER HAVE TO SEE HER UGLY CRAPPY ACTING AGAIN.
If anything this is probably going to be a close up shot in the film, no one is gonna see her tippy toe. Also most important thing in acting is the face and oh, we can see SOOOO much of that right now.
As well as the Rachelle thing, if anything, it is Summit's fault, what does it have to do with Bryce? Not like Rachelle's acting is extraordinary. Another thing you must know about the filming industry, often you can't always move schedules around. There also things like permits and such. If the film crew only have a go at a certain location for a certain amount of time, adjusting things around can cost a lot of money as well as affecting other actor's schedule. It made sense for the change.
And my god you guys all make this to be a bad thing. No offense here. Being stuck in the Twilight Series with a puny role does squat for anyone's career. . Working with the likes of Dustin Hoffman and Paul Giamatti on the other hand is any actor's dream. Rachelle made the right decision by ditching.
but yes we'll have to deal with rachelle not being in the movie.

The lace shirt with riffle cuffs? Come on. She's not a fang banger in the background of Fangtasia (True Blood) for goodness sake, she is VICTORIA!!!!! Where's the "Kiss me I'm Irish" t-shirt? The faux fur wrap? The menace?
It's not BDH's fault on the wardrobe (though as a whole, I do not have much faith she pull off the acting). I am worried for the look of the film as a whole and the director's vision for it. I am NO BDH fan, and wish desperately Rachelle was Victoria, but that's not the case so we have to deal. Let's keep out fingers crossed.
What I mean is, she's sickly sweet with him,she's seduced him, and made him believe everything she's saying. I doubt she would have been that effective had she just been her plain ol' bada$$ self. 'Help me or i'll rip out your throat'' doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
She prayed on his weakness as a man, to get him close to do her bidding. So maybe the whole innocent, appearing weaker than him etc is all just an act to make him fall completely under her spell.. Just a thought though.
Course we're not sure when in Eclipse this scene is supposed to happen, but I'm suspecting it will be a cut away scene to show what is going on with Victoria whilst the Bella, Edward, Jacob issues are trying to be resolved.
the colour in twilight was all wrong, then they got it right in new moon as far as the trailers show but now they are back to the same vomit resembling clour again!!! GNR!!!!
It's just not gonna be the same without Rachelle as Victoria...
And Bryce Dallas Howard, I don't even know what to say about the hair and clothes, it's so different than what we saw Rachelle in, in Twilight

I was just about to say that the description in the book has Victoria with that kind of hair, but then again, looks don't really matter aslong as they get the essence of the charecter right,
I mean Stewert Townend was a much better Lestat IMO than Tom Cruise*shudder* but Tom had the blond hair and blue eyes and there were a lot of chronicle fans wanting to destroy QotD because Lestat was potrayed as having brown hair and brown eyes, but he was more Lestat.
Therefor, as much as I'd like for charecters to look as they're described in books, I'd much rather have their essence captured.

Then i started reading the books and fool that I am I read Queen of the Damned before Vampire Lestat because i wanted to get the film book out of the way. Then I was like OMG it's such a hatchett job, it seemed to me that the person who wrote the screen play had the story vaguly described to them and then they just went through both books picking out charecters left right and centre and not really caring about what their true role in the movie was. It was nothing like Anne Rice wrote.
i listened to the directer's commentary and his excuse was that there was no room to put everything in, you'd need a full length series for that. But maybe they could have fit a bit more in if they hadn't smooshed the books together.
Now i just watch it without connecting it to the books i read.

ok Tom Cruise was Lestat, maybe more so than Townsend, although i don't think he would have pulled the rock god thing off as good, i just have an aversion to him. Lestat is my fave litarary vampire but I don't want Tom Cruise as my avi.

I'm probably gonna get reemed for this but I wasnt that big of a rachelle fan...so im looking forward to the new interpretation from BDH..
I personally think of Victoria as more haunting and blank stare and psycho then all mean and angry and "I'm bout to eat yo shizz" (whoa that went ghetto quickly lol sry)...BDH was a good guy in the village and still scared the crap outta me with the blank stare (well she was blind)...she just seems more feline than Rachelle IMO
Also: as far as the tippy-toes go, they might have been shooting a close-up or something. How many kissing scenes do you see when they actually show their feet? They might have been trying to get her head above him in the shot, which would be a good thing for Victoria's image, I think.
And I suppose you have a point about when the seduction might take place.

But honestly, I don't feel as exciting as I used to.... :( I really miss Rachelle it's just not the same....it just feels akward! Hopefully that feeling will go away once I see Bella, Edward and Jacob and the rest of the cast :)

Maybe the weakness in her look here with Riley kind of suggests the nature of their relationship...she's manipulating and seducing him to be what she wants him to be. It's possible she would want him to feel like he's the one in control, when that's not actually the case at all.

Yes, I HATE when they change actors midway through. Like we won't notice and be horribly distracted? No matter who was being replaced and what actor came in to take over, I would still be annoyed by changing them partway along in the saga. Ugh! So frustrating!

We may not have read about it in the book but its a movie, obviously they're going to try an show every angle that we didn't get to see in the book.

I am one of those people who hate it when they change the actors through a series... it really bugs me, but its not BDH's fault, and i;m sure she is trying and she will do her best to live up to fan expectations but its out of order to take it out on her because of Summit's decision, and remember (this is going to upset some Rachelle fans...sorry but has to be said) I love Rachelle, i loved her as Victoria I think she did the role justice, but she took on the role in another movie... ANOTHER MOVIE.. which is fair enough its her decision but she could have informed Summit before, or she could have dropped the role she took in another movie, because what is more big than Twilight right now? apart from harry potter? NOTHING... so why would she have done that?! I'm all about being SWITZERLAND and NEUTRAL and all, and so on the other hand Summit could... COULD have rearranged the 10 day schedule, but then it could have interfered with the release date and the rehearsal process so that would have had a bad outcome anyways... either way Summit would lose.
I'll admit her hair does look really bad... but maybe its the angle of the photo?! it does look short but we can't rant about it until we've seen it =]

For Breaking Dawn people want rated R but it looks to be that folks want a Rated G version for Eclipse. Because folks worry that is going to be too dark which Eclipse is, now for Breaking Dawn, they don't want it watered down? so Eclipse you want it tame and yet for Breaking Dawn not tame? this is what I'm getting here.

What annoys me is that when Catherine Hardwicke was directing Twilight, she orinally wanted BDH to play Victoria, but turned it down as she thought the role wasn't big enough.

Leslie, whatever her name is, is comparing Rob to Luke Skywalker and Orlando Bloom, saying that he has not proved himself as an actor yet and will probably end up being typecasted like Hamill and Bloom.

The hair, well we are just going to have to accept that Rachelle has a head of hair that is literally unique. It's naturally wild... how can you reproduce that, it's going to look different. As for the clothes she's in Seattle now, so she's going to have to blend in with the townies, at least at night when she's hunting for her army, it makes sense she gets some contemporary black - works with everything right? I don't see her wearing a floral print or simple jeans she'd still want to look kind of vampish. She can't go around barefoot, with leaves in her hair....

Just got finished watching Twilight AGAIN with commentary AGAIN. It got to the meadow scene where Rob is talking about not being athletic and having very feminine hands. I made a comment to my husband that Kristen is definitely the man in that relationship, joking of course.
And I started thinking, why do I think Rob is hot? He is not athletic, he is not muscled up, kind of feminine, in the way that he is not athletic and not muscled up, not clean cut AT ALL, and above all else, smokes. He has absolutely none of the qualities that I usually find sexy in a man.
But for some odd reason, I think that he is the hottest, sexiest man on the planet. I don't get it. LOL

Thought I would share. I had a 40th birthday party for my husband yesterday. My stepson and his girlfriend, both in their early 20's were there. My mom brought up that she cannot get enough of Mamma Mia. She has watched it about fifty times over the last month or so. I started making fun of her and then realized that I really couldn't make fun, for obvious reasons.
So, Twilight got brought up and the next thing I know, my stepson's girlfriend lights up and says how obsessed she is with Twilight. We started talking about it and went on for about thirty minutes. We ended up deciding to go to the midnight showing together, with some of her family. She gets on computer and talks to people about Twilight, too.
Then we started taking about Rob and how hot he is. Here comes my husband, who can always be depended upon, and my stepson making comments about Rob. "If I was that skinny I would have a six pack too." We just busted out laughing at them being so defensive over Rob.
I guess all men have a complex when it comes to Rob. So now I don't feel so bad anymore. LOL

Rachelle seems a lovely person but it's like, if you're gonna start another job you really should check they don't over lap. From these pics the hair doesn't suit her, but then again they have to match it to previous films and it's amazing what they can do in post production these days.
I'm willing to give BDH a chance simply because she stepped into the role when someone was needed to fill the void. I mean we can't have Eclipse with out Victoria and if RLf is away shooting another film then we must have someone to play the role right? and I kind of thought she was rather good in the Village, I'll just reserve my judgement on whose the best Victoria after I've seen both New Moon and Eclipse.

First off, I don't get how you guys can get if she's acting right or looks right from 20 something kind of blurry pics.
Secondly, it's not Bryce's fault that Summit gave Rachelle the boot. I hate that she's not going to be in the last movie Victoria appears in either but can we really take our Summit-frustration out on someone who's just doing her job and is probably nervous enough about whether or not she'll meet us Twilight fans' high expectations? I think we all know the answer is no.
And though we'd all LOVE it if Rachelle could come back, they're already filming with Bryce and, unless they pull a Back to the Future and just refilm everything with Rachelle instead, I just don't see it happening. If it does, GREAT. If not, we need to move on with our lives and not be mean to, or about, Bryce. She's a great actress who deserves a little respect from all of us.

She had like 8 min. tops in Twilight and like three lines. And Victoria's nonexistent in New Moon, the book, except for the red hair Bella sees in the water. I know Melissa bumped up her screen time in the script but still, it cannot be for more than ten minutes. And besides, New Moon didn't come out yet.
But we all, myself included, have a unbreakable dedication to Rachelle, as if she were family. That's quite intriguing.
Anyways, I do wish Bryce would bring that feral, vengeful, frustrated quality to Victoria. They're off to a rough start with the wardrobe (what is up with those lace cuffs???? She's supposed to be a wild nomad, Slade!!!!!!!) and hair did Bryce an injustice in not providing her Victoria's trademark WILD red hair. If anyone's reading these sites, someone needs to reshoot those scenes and give her a better, longer, WILDER wig and clothing. She looks like she just stepped out of the salon after getting a perm.

Slade got this character all wrong thus far. Victoria should be wild through and through and now it seems like he's trying to tame her because the Saga's becoming so commercialized. CW found a good balance between Catherine's grit and rawness and being commercial. Slade should do the same.

And I do wish Bryce luck. I hope she retains that wild element Victoria has and will always have. Someone needs to reshoot this scene with Bryce in a wig four inches longer, wilder, and dirtier and some shredded clothing.

I guess Rachelle really couldn't do both this role and Barney's vision. I saw pics of her somewhere in Europe filming her movie and Bryce has done rehearsals and started shooting scenes so it wouldn't have fit Rachelle's/Slade's schedule.
EDIT: I also hope this movie is at least 2 1/2hrs coz they are filming alot of the backstories and they also need to focus on Edward, Bella and Jacob. There's alot of things that happen in this book.
It seems they just curled her hair, but her hair cut doesn't go with culrs, it looks weird at the ends.
They should've added extensions too to make it longer. Xavier looks great!
I won't judge about the acting because to be honest we can't tell if they're doing the right job or not and who knows what is in the script.

Am I the only one who read Twilight and felt like Stephenie adding the nomads at the end didn't add enough suspense to the book? I only wish Melissa had done more to establish the nomads. They weren't fully realized.

I'm glad we are getting Jasper's history, I'm glad we are getting Rosalie's and the Wolves story. It finally makes this story an epic love story opposed to some teeny booper crap they try to keep selling.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates Melissa expanding the POV. The studio has to consider the audience who haven't read the books and the movie wouldn't make any sense if everything was just from Bella's perspective.
And I get Victoria being savvy but she does NOT wear black lace, IMO. And while your speculation to this new look may be correct, it's still just a speculation. So this change must be explained logically. It should not be done so that Bryce seems like a completely different, more sensual character, because then all the fans will definitely hate her.

First off... I didn't love the movie. I actually think it looked budget and the script was crap. So speak for yourself and not others.
Second, people are complaining because they don't like the actress, for whatever reason. People are complaining because the don't like the costume, or the wig, or the set, or the fact that this scene wasn't in the book. Everyone has the right to complain about the characteristics of the movie based on images released. They might change their mind when they see it in theaters, but for now they are having valid opinions on the images presented.

Now...for all the characters to be replaced by another actor I suppose Rachelle's was better than most. She plays the "bad" guy, or woman in this case, and we're not supposed to like her. Granted I think Rachelle brought a little spiciness and fun to the character which I'm not sure BDH can pull off but it could've been worse. So the clapping you may hear (Gof forbid that happens) could be because someone just doesn't like Victoria, or it could be because someone doesn't like BDH playing Victoria. Either way Summit will be happy they got that reaction from you.

Sure, I think Rachelle did a good job of playing Victoria and promoting the movie. Whatever happened between her and Summit has caused the chamge in casting and we just have to move on.
Bryce has taken the role and must be up to the task or it will be detremental to her career--she HAS to nail this performance. She has a big job ahead of her. I, for one want to give her this chance.

I just don't want to see BDH try to IMITATE what Rachelle did as Victoria. That will seriously piss me off. She is her own actress and according to some more well known.

I know Catherine had a hard time.
But according to the commentary, there were several instances where Kristen believed she performed better than what Catherine chose for the final cut. Not that I've seen that footage. But that hospital scene were she's stuttering like she has turrets is so darn painful. And Catherine chose that for goodness sakes!
Yeah, she's not all bad but I still think David will do better.
As for the screenplay, I definitely would've made the nomads scarier, included more scenes explaining why Edward loved Bella. If neither Chris nor David make the antagonists truly frightening in these films... Malarkey!!!!
Casting: everyone but Nikki, who would've made a better Jessica, not that I don't enjoy the current actress. Perfection is hard to cast.
But for Rosalie, considering the budget they had, I probably would've gone with Maggie Grace from Lost. Or this unknown, Mircea Monroe, who I chose mainly because she worked on a Tim Minear show, "Drive" that I didn't watch but Tim's other shows, "Angel" and "Dollhouse" have incredible casts.
For my dream cast, I would've gone with Charlize Theron LOL, even though she's older.
and maybe a different alice i love ash but maybe someone else who?
As far as the love scenes, I really think that Rob Zombie could be directing and we would still get the chemistry and passion from Robsten. They in all reality only have to point and shoot them.

I have to admit that I loved the first half of the remake up until Michael gets sent to the mental hospital, then it kind of dulled out for me. I felt like he only did it his way for the first half and then made it commercial the rest of the way.
But the second one is coming out next weekend and the trailer looks good, so ... we will see.

and I am just like you.. when I started reading one book I couldn't put them away from me.. I sat in school - even during lessons - readiing under the tables and stuff.. New moon was the heardest to read around people , so I tried not to .. and It's kind of.. I miss edward so much because he is not there, but at the same time the book is so important to me because of how stephanie has made bella feel.. I just.. It's one of the best books in my eyes, definetly.. and eclipse.. is okey .. I think Its more of a middle book .. but I do love it because of Bellas final honesty towards herself.. she finally understand which way she loves jacob - understands it doesn't mean as much as edward does - lets go.. and finally gets engaged with edward. Eclipse has some of the most beautiful moments, that is sertained.. but Its difficult.. all of them are so beautiful, BD is of course the most beautiful one.. because there everything is what it is meant to be.. (expect nessie and jake..Sorry, I just... I just think it's to wierd..because it makes the love triangle totally unnecessary) but okey .. moving on. All of the books are important - twilight because its a way to get to know them - new moon , realising how much it hurts to live without the one you trully love but also realising that life has more to offer.. - eclipse, honesty towards yourself and realising which way to go.. - Breaking Dawn, the perfect ending in everyway. .
With that said, I do love Rob and it's kind of hard to watch the movie because I don't like Edward's character but I think Rob is a really cool person.
My mom is reading New Moon and she said "I keep thinking Edward is coming back, but then he doesn't." She knows he'll reappear somewhere along the line. She seems fine with Jake, though, but I'm waiting till she finishes New Moon and possibly even Eclipse before I ask her who she likes more. haha.
I love how many of us take from the books what our own life experiences have been. It's really fascinating, I think. Which is another reason why I can't stand comments like "Edward is so hawwt" ugh. Why is he hot? LOL
I agree about the edward being "hawt" comments. You know it's mostly the younger set who can't see past the romance of B/E. I mean, it's sweet to a point, but the older ones can understand the appeal of another sweet guy who has flaws.. but who truly loves you. :)
I saw a comment above about Jake being selfish and not caring about Bella. We know that's bull... he made mistakes (as they all have), but it's hard for some to see past.. again the B/E romance.. to realize Jake loves her a whole hell of a lot and in the end would do what he could for her. Just with some mistakes along the way. :)

Obviously Edward doubted their love because he didn't think it could work considering their circumstances. Then he came back and became controlling and...well, yada yada yada the same old arguments :)
Jake always controlled the werewolf around her. But no, I don't think he would have left if he had accidentally hurt her. That's why they're so different, and I don't think it makes one better than the other. Edward left because he felt she'd be safer. I would guess that Jacob would stay and they would talk it out and move on and he would have better control. Both ways have their points in both good and bad ways.

He left because he hates what he is, and he realises that his family isn't safe for her. His own brother attacked her. It was just a proof for him that it is all a big risk for her.
It is the same with the pack. I mean Paul wanted to kill Bella just because she was Cullens friend. He almost killed her, and I doubt that he would be safe in the future...at one point something bad would've happened.
Also I think it was just a matter of time when Jacob would crack. He almost did at her wedding. He was hurting her and he almost lost it.
I'm just saiyng that Edward's sitiation was much more harder than Jacob's and Edward was in control.

One of mine is actually in BD when Jacob first sees Renesme. The way that Stephanie wrote that part was so sweet. There was so much angst and sadness for Jacob in the books that when I read this part I actually cried with joy. Jacob deserved to be happy :)
And I also thought it was poignant that he wouldn't have found her if there were no Edward/Bella relationship. So if Bella had chosen Jacob, he still wouldn't have imprinted on anyone because Renesme wouldn't exist.

It's like I can picture the whole scene with this music playing in the background. It's an instrumental called "Time Forgets" by composer Yiruma. I missed the favourite kiss from the books. Mine is actually when they finally are both Vampires and Edward doesn't have to hold back, SM doesn't describe it but it's after the Volturi leave and Bella says "It could have set the woods on fire but she didn't care"

Rachelle was very vocal about her surprise and hurt over the change. I applaud her for being so gracious about it cause if it was me I would be PISSED. She knows how much we loved her for Victoria and to be honest I hate that she isn't in it. I was so looking forward to seeing more of her character in Eclipse BECAUSE of Rachelle. She totally nailed that character. I'll miss her.

First reason - They don't even leave their hotel rooms to get food. Vampires don't eat food. So then why would they need food?

I watched two movies over thw weekend, first up was Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and can I just say it was very disapointing, I was almost shouting at the screen where's this scene where's that one? And what the hale happened to Scrimgeor and where was the big battle at the end when the OotPh was supposed to be protecting Hogwarts? I only saw it anyway because I wanted to see Bandslam and catch the New Moon sneaky peaks.
Now Bandslam, brilliant movie, Maybe it was because I went in with low expectations but I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I think I owe VH an appology, she's aactually good in this film, and I think Summit where displaying there great non-ability of advertising by picking the dodgiest moment of her singing in th whole movie for the trailer. Besides the film was about Will anyways, I think the kid who played him is a good little actor IMO.

OMG half naked wolf pack on big screan, I was drooling in the aisle, and Taylor was talking about New Moon, he's such a sweety and rightfully proud of how he's managed to bulk up. Everything was great, Volterra, the motorbikes, Edward/Bella kiss, half naked wolf pack, the under water scene, Jacob jumping into Bella's room, Jacob getting down the motorbikes.
I don't know if there are like two sneakpeaks or something, but they were advertising teamjacob.com at the end and that got a few applause, which was great cause there was only like twenty of us wathcing.
Anyways, this sneak peak has just made the waiting worse, hurry up Navember 20, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say Isle Esme and the wedding, i really can not wait for that. But i think i only want to see that because the finally are "together" with no Jacob interuptions.
